Deleting your data
Last updated 1 September 2026
Your library is not involved
Your screenshots, the recognized text and the search index are files on your Mac that we have never had a copy of. Deleting them is a matter of deleting the folder — see Export & uninstall. No request to us is needed, or would help.
What we actually hold
- Your email address and billing country, received from the merchant of record so we can send a licence key.
- Your licence key and the date it was issued.
- Any support email you have sent us, and our replies.
That is the complete list. It fits in three lines because the application reports nothing.
How to ask
Email support@screenshotinbox.com with the subject Delete my data, from the address you bought with. If you no longer have that address, tell us which one you used and roughly when — we will find it.
You will get an acknowledgement within three working days and confirmation that it is done within thirty. No form, no account to log into, and no retention offer in between.
What deletion means here
- The support correspondence is deleted from the mailbox and its backups age out on the mail provider's ordinary cycle.
- Your email address and country are removed from our licence records.
- The licence key is dissociated from you. It keeps working on any Mac already activated.
The part that cannot be deleted
Lemon Squeezy is the merchant of record for your purchase, which makes the sale legally theirs. They are required to keep invoice and tax records for a statutory period, and we cannot instruct them to destroy those. That record is a transaction, not a profile: it is not used to market to you, and we have no access to it beyond your email address and country.
Deletion requests aimed at the purchase record itself go to Lemon Squeezy under their privacy policy. We will tell you exactly where to send it if you ask.
Deleting your data does not cancel your licence
The application does not check in with anything, so an installed and activated copy is unaffected by any of this. The practical cost is that we can no longer look your key up for you — if you lose it afterwards, the recovery route depends on records that will no longer exist. Keep a copy of the key first.
